Wayanad Plateau lies at a height of 700 to 2100 meters above the sea level making it perfect for growing Coffee plants. Two varieties of Coffee is grown in Wayanad: Arabica and Robusta. Arabica beans are grown at higher altitudes, have more sugar and lipids, and more flavorful and aromatic.
Arabica Powder is recommended for milky and light roasts. It is very easy to make a cup of coffee with Wayanadan Arabica Coffee Powder. In a Sause pan add 1 cup of water and 15 grams of Wayanadan Arabica Coffee Powder. Allow it to boil together in low flame. Take out the Sause pan from the gas hob and keep aside for few seconds to allow the residue powder to settle down. Carefully pour the coffee into a cup and add sugar according to your taste. Aromatic Wayanadan Black Coffee is ready! Optionally you can mix milk if you want milky coffee.
At Wayanadcraft, Coffee is grown naturally in our own plantation in Wayanad, Kerala with the use of cow dung as the only fertiliser and organic lime as the soil acidity regulator. For other different crops in the plantation, we use only bio-fertilisers and bio-pesticides and is certified (“Bharatiya Prakartik Krishi Padhathi”) by the Agriculture Department who conducts frequent inspections.
The ripen coffee beans is manually plucked from plants and then dried under sunlight. When it is adequately dried, the husk is removed and the beans is separated and sorted. The beans then roasted and powdered in our facility according to the demands.

The coffee was very light and I had to add nescafe to the drink. Also it is ground very fine so some of the coffee want through the very fine filter into the Bru.

Our coffee powder is finely ground to ensure that it can make coffee instantly by adding a teaspoon of powder to boiling water. It mixes quickly with water, and the residue settles at the bottom. However, for a filter coffee, a coarser grind may be required.
As we discussed while placing the order, there are two variants of coffee powder, Arabica and Robusta. Robusta is strong and contains high amount of caffeine where as Arabica is a lighter brew and contains less caffeine and more lipids. You selected Arabica because it’s healthier than the Robusta because of less caffeine.
